This is a software that saves and manages user passwords. It saves the log in data in an encrypted way and one can only access it by entering a master password which is set when one saves the account details. It uses databases and files to store the data.

The product works in a very simple way. The user usually enters the account log in data in a form provided by the software. The data includes the accounts and security questions which are used to verify the identity of the user in case they forget the password.

The desktop is more commonly used than any of the other managers. They store all the log in data in one database that is secured with one main password. Some of the databases consist of one file so it is easy to transfer them from one computer to the other. The problem is that if you forget the main password then you cannot view all the others. Therefore it is important that one does not forget it.

There are three types of this software. These include:1. Desktop- it stores data in the local hard disk2. Portable- it stores data in mobile devices such as mobile phones3. Web based- stores data in external servers and can be accessed online.

This software is usually very useful in enterprises and companies and comes in handy in many ways. First of all many companies have only one administrator account. This administrator account might be used by several personnel and for security reasons they are not meant to know the password. Therefore the software is used to automatically enter the password to the account enabling the workers to access the account.

This ensures the workers have access to everything they need to perform their duties while denying them automatic privileges of being the local administrator. In this system the system administrators can monitor and detect account logs and activities. This strengthens the security of the system.

Also in case a worker is on the field dealing with clients and his or her account gets blocked they can unblock their account by accessing the administrator account with the aid of the software. This ensures that the clients are served efficiently despite minor technical errors that might occur.

Therefore for an enterprise to run efficiently it needs to have a password manager installed into its system. This is because it ends up saving time and ensures maximum security of data and information that is sensitive to the company.
