I'm often appalled at some of the efforts of blog commenters. They write garbage. Or should I say, the blog commenting software places garbage there. Naturally many of those blog comments do not get approved.I'm often appalled at some of the efforts of blog commenters. They write garbage. Or should I say, the blog commenting software places garbage there. Naturally many of those blog comments do not get approved.
The strange thing it's not that hard to write blog comments to get approved.
3 Tips for how to write blog comments are as follows:
1. Read the blog post on which you're commenting.
This doesn't take long and you'll be informed about what to write about. I actually think this part of blog commenting is fun because I get learn all kinds of interesting stuff. I've also found some fantastic blogs through my blog commenting efforts.
When you know what the blog post is about, you're in a much better position to write a great comment.
2. Put some thought into the comment.
Seriously, take a few seconds and think of something valuable to say. It could be a personal experience regarding the post comment. It could be an additional bit of information to the post content that will be valuable to other readers. You could expand upon the content of the post by defining something or shedding more light on the post or an aspect of the post. Also, don't forget you can have an opinion. If you do, state it.
3. Read the commenting instructions, if any.
Many comment forms have instructions for commenting. Some may say you can add keywords in the name field. If so, do it if you have keywords. If it doesn't say so, avoid adding keywords to the name field. When you add keywords to the name field, blog owners get annoyed and will likely delete your comment even if your comment is valuable.
Just because the comment instructions say you can add a link in the comment box, doesn't necessarily invite you to add a blatant link to your website. The invitation to add a link is generally inviting links to other valuable information that adds value to the blog post. In the event an article on your blog is added value, then that may be an instance to add a link to your site. Just be warned that some blog owners may still delete your comment because you're plugging your site in the comment field.
A good rule of thumb when blog commenting is treat the blog as if it were your own blog. Ask yourself "Would you publish the comment you submit?" This doesn't guarantee your comment will be approved, but chances are you'll write something worthwhile and you increase the odds your comment will be approved.
