While it is possible to make money fast with affiliate marketing, it can also be tough. This is especially true when you are all alone and competing with hundreds maybe thousands of affiliates all trying to make some money and build up their own residual income. The trick is to be consistent and follow a few simple rules which will enable you to make money fast.

These are tactics that have worked before with online marketing and are continuing to work in the online affiliate marketing world of today. With these top three marketing tips, you will be able to able to increase your residual income make sales and survive in the affiliate marketing online business.

Earning the big dollars in residual income may seem like the elusive pie in the sky dream for most but with a little hard work and determination you can build up your income to a suitable level.  Start with finding a good opportunity that will allow you to slowly build up your income and follow a few simple rules.

There are three major tactics the affiliate marketer should employ to stay ahead of the competition.

What are these three simple tactics?

1. Stay focused, promoting several different products or programs is fine but you must have each product or program hosted with a unique web page.  Do not put all your products and programs on the one web site.  You need to focus and see what is working for each one.

Two must haves on any site are product reviews and testimonials,  honest reviews can help build up your trustworthiness in the customers eyes so make sure it is an honest review.  One way I find to do that is to try the product or service yourself.  This allows you to write an honest review and you can be your own best testimonial.  Communicate with customers and ask for testimonials most happy customers are more than willing to help.

Writing articles about the uses and benefits of your product or service and putting them on your website as an extra page.  Each article should have clear headline inducing the buyer to keep reading and include information with clear call to act indicators so take customers one step further along in the sales process.  Keep your articles clear and easy to read, these articles you can also promote online on various blogs and article directories giving you more exposure and positioning you as an authority on your given product or program.

2. Research has proven that it can take up to seven contacts with a prospect before you can close a sale.  This means that you need to help the prospect along with various call to action methods enticing the prospect to give you their details so you can follow up the sale at a later date.  This may include offering a time limited discount or a free information report on a related subject that the prospect can only access by giving you their name and email address.  Setting up an email series through an autoresponder you can then send out a set of emails that expand on the use, benefits or tips for using your product or service that will directly benefit the customer.

One of only two things can possibly happen with your  web page alone: you close the sale or the prospect leaves the page and never returns again. By placing useful information into their inboxes at certain specified period through the use of your autoresponder, you will remind them of the product they were interested in and hopefully thought they might want later and will find out that the sale is closing, this will create some urgency for your potential customer to act. Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.

When writing your email series think about how your product or program will improve your prospects life.  How much easier or simpler things would be If they owned your product or program.  Include call to action motivators to let them know what they will be missing out on if they dont have your product or program.  Use testimonials or stories of happy users and how it helped their lives.

3. Think about the kind of visitors you want visiting your website, ideally you want targeted visitors who already have an interest in your product or service.  Write informative articles giving away useful information about your product or service with a clear call to action to visit your sales site.  If your articles are informative and well written you are setting yourself up as an expert in your product or program and people will trust what you have to say.  Send these articles to popular article directories, or ezines that are related to your product or service, this ensures that  readers will already have an interest in what your offering and allows you to target your market.

Try to write a minimum of two articles per week, with at least three to six hundred words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as one hundred targeted readers to your site in a day.

If your websites sale conversion is one sale for every one hundred visitors then by writing articles and increasing your website traffic to one thousand visitors a day you can make ten sales.

The tactics given above are not really  very difficult to do, if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.  If you follow these points through and be consistent you can build up a large residual income.

Work these methods consistently on several affiliate programs and you will be able to watch your residual income grow.

Think of the life you could be living if you build up a substantial residual income,  keep this in mind to help you stay motivated and consistent in your marketing efforts. Even if you do not make money fast, your belief in your future success will keep you going.
